We know that beating this cancer is going to be a long, difficult process both physically and emotionally for Cole and his family. We also know that there will be a heavy financial burden for the family in time away from work and a variety of other costs. We are still gathering information but it looks like over the next 12 months we may need as much as $30,000. It is a daunting figure but many hands make light work.
Many of you have already generously offered support in various forms and we appreciate it all. To make things easy to manage we are will use this site to accept cash donations and have put together some information here on how to give. We understand that these are difficult economic times for all and don't ask for your help lightly. If you are able to give and willing please know that any money collected will go only to Cole's family to cover costs associated with his treatment. If by some miracle we raise more than is needed, we will give the remainder to one of the national charities focusing on pediatric oncology research. If what you can offer is prayer, good wishes or positive thoughts please know that we value those just as highly.
We have setup an account at Chase bank and an associated Paypal account to accept donations. Paypal allows us to handle secure online transactions both for checks and credit cards. For my family, a small monthly contribution fits our budget best so we've setup options for both one-time donations or ongoing monthly pledges. The monthly pledge will run for 6 months before automatically expiring. At the end of 6 months the system will send an email asking if you would like to renew. If you aren't comfortable with online transactions there is mailing information at the bottom of this page. From what I understand, these gifts are not tax-deductible but check with your tax preparer for more information.
